Mr. Machine robot wind-up toy. Figure has red arms, legs, and head wearing a top hat with "MR. MACHINE" in silver letters. Clear plastic body reveals orange, blue, green and yellow gears inside. A blue winding key protrudes from the back. Figure rolls forward when wound. Inscription on side of body: "[copyright symbol] 1961, 1977 Ideal, Inc. / A Subsidiary of View-Master / Ideal Group, Inc. / Portland, OR 97207 / U.S. Patent No. 3,765,734". Toy measures approximately 17.5 inches in height.

|Ownership and History||Mr. Machine was made by Ideal Toy Company. It was first produced in 1960, but this example is marked with the year 1977. Earlier versions of the toy could be taken apart and put back together, but the 1970s version was redesigned, perhaps due to growing concerns about toy safety and the risks of choking hazards.|
