Description Original glass plate negative. View of a dock at the Clifton Boat Club in Clifton, Staten Island. A crowd of men and women stand at the end of the dock near two steamboats. Two rowboats are in the foreground of the image, and many other vessels are in the background. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "A.R. / 40 / No. 31 / Clifton Boat Club race dock & tugs / Clear, cloudy day. / 5.45 P.M / D / Sat. July 12th 1890."
