Ownership and History The Weissglass Gold Seal Dairy Corporation operated a large milk processing and bottling plant on Forest Avenue in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island from 1933 until 1965. In this photo, the Weissglass Dairy milkmen are costumed to represent the clothing worn by the Island's 17th-century settlers, as part of the 1961 Staten Island Tercentennial (300th anniversary) celebration.

The original negative sleeve has Flamm's handwritten inscription: "4/27/61 / Weissglass / [illegible] uniform". Negatives 79.22.4237 through 79.22.4239 all came from the same negative sleeve [contact print made]
