Description Original glass plate negative. View of two sailing ships (schooners) in New York Harbor, as seen from the grounds of Clear Comfort (Austen house) in Rosebank, Staten Island. In the foreground the lawn and walkway are visible, with a large tree in bloom at left. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "144. / Cramer Light / View from front door, tree & schooner / Fine clear day, some wind / 12.45. P.M. / Stop 0. / Instantaneous / Dalh lense / Monday Aug 8th 1887."
