Description Original B&W print on brown cardboard mount with gold edges. View of the grounds of an estate, with a lawn, paths, and large trees in bloom; one cow is grazing on the lawn. There is a road, fence, and a house in the middle distance, and water in the far distance. Handwritten inscription on reverse of mount: "LH Meyers residence / View from N. East Window of his bedroom."

Ownership and History Louis H. Meyer (1815-1892), a wealthy banker, had an estate known as Fox Villa (or Fox Hills Villa) on Fingerboard Road in Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. It later became the Mount Manresa Jesuit Retreat House.
