Description Original glass plate negative. View of three rowboats full of young sailors at a dock. The sailors hold their oars straight up in the air. The photographer's initials "E.A.A." are inscribed in the lower right corner. Austen's original negative envelope identifies the scene as "Naval cadets in boats oars up," Annapolis, Tuesday September 25th, 1894, at 3:15 P.M.
