Description Original glass plate negative. Alice Austen (standing) and Julia Bredt (seated) pose with two men on the porch of the Bredt family home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. One of the men is standing, and the other sits on the porch railing. All look toward the camera. Inscription "E.A.A" in lower left corner. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "A & R / 40 / No. 251 / Julia B, & self, Dr Beam & Mr Jessup / rainy Cloudy day, on piazza / 1 sec / W.L. / 10 ft. 3 P.M / Sunday Feb 21st / 1892 / Bethlehem."

Ownership and History Alice Austen took this photograph while visiting her friend Julia Bredt in Bethlehem. "Mr. Jessup" is most likely Alfred Emerson Jessup, who graduated from Lehigh University in 1892.
