Ownership and History This view has been identified as the James Purvis House, which was located on Jewett Avenue at the foot of Kingsley Avenue in Westerleigh, Staten Island. The house reportedly collapsed a few years after the photo was taken.

The 1920 U.S. census shows brothers James and Thomas Purvis residing together with Elizabeth Purvis at 606 Jewett Avenue.
