Description Original B&W print on cream cardboard mount. Diagonal view of two buildings on a pier, with ferry slips and a ferry boat partially visible behind them. The larger building at left has a doorway at left with "ENTRANCE" sign above. The building appears to have several windows boarded up with plywood. A sign between two of the windows has inscription: "[first two lines illegible] / COFFEE [...] CAKE / ICE CREAM / CIGARS / NEWSPAPERS / COLD BREWS." A sign mounted below has inscription: "DAIRYCREST / ICE CREAM." The smaller building at right has a small sign beside the door, with inscription: "OFFICE." Two men are standing near the building. Between and behind the buildings, there is a tall structure at the entrance to each slip; the structures in the left and in the center each have the same sign with inscription: "STATEN ISLAND FERRY / SHORT ROUTE TO NEW JERSEY." Typed inscription on paper glued to the reverse of the mount: "TR - 177 / 69th STREET FERRY / Brooklyn Terminal. / Ferry house and office. / Looking southwest. / By Herbert L. Van Cott / Nov. 25, 1964."
