Description Original B&W print. Front view of a one-story building on the boardwalk at South Beach, Staten Island; the building has Tudor style architectural elements in the dormers. Sign above the entrance: "SOUVENIRS." Other signs advertise Horton's ice cream and Coca-Cola. The beach is in the foreground. Men, women, and children are on the beach and boardwalk. Handwritten inscription along the top edge of the photo: "ERECTED 1912 DESIGNED EHS." (Keywords: New York City, Early Twentieth Century)

Ownership and History This is one of a group of photographs donated to the Historical Society in 1952 by Edwin H. Skinner, who for many years was manager of the Staten Island Beach Land Improvement Company in South Beach.
