Description Original glass plate negative. View looking north along the porch of Clear Comfort, the Austen family home in Rosebank, Staten Island. The porch is furnished with several rocking chairs, a footstool, a table with a telescope, and a hammock. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Cramer / 122 / Piazza looking north / Very fine, still warm day / 9.15 a.m. / about 1 sec / Stop 4 / Dalh lense / Monday August 1st 1887."
