Description Original film negative. View of the beach in Atlantic City, New Jersey, seen from an elevated vantage point. In the center of the scene is a line of sand sculptures; at right, a man kneels in the sand, carving a sand sculpture of a male figure. The other carvings include a lion next to a shield, and other male and female figural groups.

Ownership and History Above the lion sculpture in the sand is an inscribed Latin inscription "HELVETIORUM FIDEI AC VIRTUTI" (to the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss). It is a copy of the famous sandstone carving in Lucerne, Switzerland known as the Lion Monument.
