Description Original glass plate negative. View of the gateway at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The gateway has two brick pillars and a cobblestone road. A uniformed guard carrying a rifle stands next to the pillar at right. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Stanley / 35 / 489 / Gate of N. Academy / Sun out / W.L. / 60 ft 11.30 AM / Wed. Oct 25th 1892 / Canal Trip."
