Description Original B&W photo postcard. View of the Richmond County Fair Grounds in Dongan Hills, Staten Island, as seen from an elevated vantage point. View includes tents, a large oval race track, and a grandstand at left; there are numerous men, women and children on the grounds. Printed inscription at bottom of photo: "1008. / ANNUAL FAIR OF THE RICHMOND COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. GENERAL VIEW. / COPYRIGHT, 1905, BY A. LOEFFLER, TOMPKINSVILLE, N.Y." Handwritten inscription in pen below photo: "Lots of entries received by Charlie. -- everything looks good. / Clif". A printed orange sticker is glued to the upper right corner of the photo: "RICHMOND COUNTY FAIR / RE-UNION DAY / September 4, 1907 / Special welcome to / former residents of / Staten Island". Handwritten address on reverse: "Chas E Griffith Esq / Hotel Lafayette / Asbury Park / New Jersey". Postcard has two postmarks: one from Port Richmond dated Aug. 28, 1907, and the other from Asbury Park, dated [month illegible] 29, 1907.
