Description Original color postcard; appears to be a B&W photo with color added before printing. View of a racetrack; on the left is a grandstand filled with spectators, and next to that is a tent that is also filled with people. Crowds are visible along the fences that border both sides of the track. One open-top car (automobile) is visible on the track. Printed caption at bottom: "12494 -- Richmond County Fair Grounds, Staten Island." Handwritten inscription below caption: "9 - 26 - 06 / This is were [sic] Lulu Katie Andrew and I was / on Sept. 5th '06. -- Jennie". Printed on reverse: "Posts Card / THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS / Souvenir Post Card Co., New York and Berlin." Postcard has two postmarks, one for Tompkinsville dated Sept 27 1906, and one for Passaic NJ with the same date. Postcard is hand addressed to "Mrs. Wm. S. Brown, / 122 Palisade Ave., / Garfield N.J." A one-cent stamp is attached.
