Original B&W print on off-white cardboard mount. Group portrait of men and boys arranged in four rows. The two men and two boys in the front row are seated on the ground; the boys each hold a rifle. The men in the second row are seated on a bench; one of the men holds an accordion. The men in the other rows are standing. They are in front of a wooden building; at right is a sign: "FREDK. BACHMANN'S / FIRST PRIZE / CENTENNIAL / LAGER BIER." Printed inscription on the mount below the photo: "GEO. BEAR, PHOTO. / STAPLETON, S.I." An inscription on the reverse identifies this as Bachmann's Brewery employees, Maple Avenue between Tompkins Avenue and the railroad tracks, Rosebank, Staten Island, ca. 1895.
