Description Original glass plate negative. Diagonal view of New York University's original "University Building;" it is a large stone Gothic Revival style building with towers and a crenelated top. A street and a cast iron fence are in the foreground. Inscription in lower right corner: "E.A.A." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription (the envelope is torn and pieces are missing): "[---] University with side fr[om] / stoop of 3 Washingt[on] / Sq / Fine day, sun / 4.35 P.M / 60 ft / Inst medium / Monday April 2nd / 1894 / N.Y."
