Description Original glass plate negative. Frank Richards (seen in profile) is on horseback, facing to the left, on an unpaved street. There are two houses in the background. The lower left corner has inscription "E.A.A." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Stanley / 35 / No. 549 / Mr Richards on his horse / Artillery / Fine day, sun / W.L. / 4.10 pm / 50 ft / Inst / Sunday May 7th 1893 / Cambridge."

Ownership and History Frank Richards was the husband of photographer Alice Austen's friend Mary Louisa (Alexander) Richards. This photograph was taken in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Frank and Louisa resided.
