Description Original B&W print on a cream cardboard mount. Diagonal front view of a two-story building at left, with street at right; a row of upside-down brooms are attached to a cord or rope hung across the street. A man stands in the street pulling on a rope; at far right are two boys with baseball bats, with another man visible behind them. The building at left has a flagpole on top and a wooden ramp leading to a wide, closed door on the ground floor. Two wheeled carts are on a track to the left of the ramp. An inscription on the reverse identifies this as Cataract Engine Company No. 2, North Shore Fire Department, Van Street, West New Brighton, Staten Island, photographed by Charles M. Steinrock, ca. 1900.
