Description Original B&W print on black cardboard mount with red edges. View of a parade, as seen from an elevated vantage point. A large group of men is marching in the street; they wear suits and hats, and have badges on ribbons around their necks. A man at the front of the group carries a banner: "FORESTERS / OF / AMERICA / Richmond Borough." In the left foreground is a fife and drum corps in military uniform. Other marchers are in the distance. Men, women, and children stand on both sides of the road, watching the parade. Several men and one woman are standing next to bicycles. There is a drugstore on the corner at far left; the name is not visible. Handwritten inscription on the reverse of the mount: "Marching Down / Spanish American / War Veterans / Gift of Mrs. Henry Litinsky." A related photograph of the same event is identified as Decoration Day, 1898, looking west on Central Avenue in St. George, Staten Island.
