Description Original glass plate negative. A policeman, seen in profile (facing to the left side of the image), stands on the sidewalk of a cobblestone street in Manhattan. There are buildings, pedestrians, and horse-drawn carriages in the background. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "No / 876 / Cramer / Crown / Policeman No 642 - 48 St N.Y / side view / 12 ft / 12 N / W.L. / Inst / Friday March 7th 1896 / N.Y / Set."
