Businesses visible in the image include Goldwyn Jewelers, Red Cross Shoes, Royal Jewelers, F.W. Woolworth Co., and Manhattan Furniture Company. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "[Poren?] Ins / 5/28/56 / 4."

Ownership and History A family business for 54 years, Goldwyn Jewelers, seen at right, relocated to Forest Avenue in 1975 and closed in 1983. The Manhattan Furniture Company, located across the street, had been in Port Richmond since 1904.
