Description Original B&W film negative. View of the Van Hoesen Bros. Mobilgas service station at 466 Bay Street in Stapleton, Staten Island. The station has a small building and two gas pumps; there is a telephone booth next to the building. A car is stopped next to the gas pumps. Sign above the door of the building: "VAN HOESEN BROS. SERVICE". A large brick building in the background has a billboard painted on the side: "LIBERTY PLUMBERS / SUPPLY CO. INC." The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Socony 3/8/54."
