Description Original B&W print, possibly a postcard, mounted on a page in photograph album X17.0003; the album contains photographs of Midland Beach, Staten Island, and is associated with Henry Johnk. Street view showing a row of one-story storefronts. The store at left has a closed awning with inscription along the edge: "M. M. SCHAFFER. & SON." Inscription in the window: "[...] SCHAFFER & SON / HARDWARE." Two men stand outside the door. To the right, there is a door with an inscription on the glass panel: "[first two lines illegible] / REAL ESTATE / HOUSES & LOTS / FOR SALE." The next store to the right has a sign mounted above the windows: "Thos. Roulston." Two men, a woman, and a boy stand in front of the door; the windows on each side display advertisements and prices for various grocery items, including pineapple, salmon, peas, and soap. At far right another store is partly visible; its left-hand window has inscription: "MEAT / MARKET." The location is uncertain, but may be Midland Avenue.
