Description Original glass plate negative. A group of five women and two men pose on a wooden foot bridge over a small mountain stream in the Catskills, New York. Alice Austen stands in the center of the group. Trude Eccleston is seated at left, and the man standing behind her (wearing a striped jacket) is her brother Jack. In the background on the left is a small wooden cabin. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Seed 26 / 347 / Cascade & Bridge & group / Fine, bright day / 12. M / 1 1/2 sec / Perken lense / Stop 22 / Thursday Aug 23d 1889 / Catskill."
