Description Original glass plate negative. Side view of Clear Comfort, the Austen family home in Rosebank, Staten Island. A woman is seated on a chair in the shade of the porch and three women stand behind her; a pug (probably Alice's dog Punch) stands at the feet of the seated woman. Vines cover the wall and roof. A water pump is visible on the right, and a doorway is open to the hall. The women are next to a small table that holds a basket and a ceramic pitcher. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Cramer / 131 / End of House, kitchen & servants / Fine day but some wind / 1. P.M. Stop 4. About 1 sec. / Dalh lense Thursday August 4th 1887."
