Description Original B&W print. Group portrait of women and men in Colonial style costumes, standing on the side lawn of the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House in Dongan Hills, Staten Island. They are standing in front of a horse-drawn vehicle and a man on horseback wearing a tricorn hat. Trees with bare branches are behind them, and a portion of the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House can be seen on the left. Handwritten inscription at lower left: "February 22nd / 1932" and at lower right: "Helene Photo Shoppe / St. George".

Ownership and History The occasion documented by this photograph was probably a celebration of George Washington's birthday; it was taken on the bicentennial of his birth. Standing at far right in this photo is Mrs. Newton D. Chapman, who held many community positions including Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Vice President of the Staten Island Historical Society.
