Description Original glass plate negative. View in the Catskills, New York. Diagonal front view of a small wood frame house on an unpaved street, with a rustic wooden rail fence along the road. Alice Austen (left) and Trude Eccleston (center) sit on benches on the porch; another woman stands behind Trude; they all look toward the camera. An older woman stands at the edge of the street; she wears a dress with an apron and has a large bonnet on her head; she is holding a metal pail in her right hand. Inscription "E.A.A." in the lower left corner. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "Carbutt Light / No 25 / 356 / Old house road & woman / Bright, sunny, clear day / 12.20 P.M / Stop 32 / short / 3 sec / Perken lense / Wednesday Aug 28th 1889 / Catskill."
