Original B&W print. View of the grade crossing elimination project at the Staten Island Rapid Transit railroad station in Eltingville, Staten Island. The photo is taken from the older level-grade railroad tracks, looking west across Richmond Avenue toward the new elevated station. Two staircases lead up to the platform. The overpass carrying the tracks across Richmond Avenue can be seen at right; it has an inscription at center: "1939." Handwritten inscription on the reverse: "Eltingville / 4/30/40."
