Description Original B&W film negative with some color added. View of Amboy Road in Great Kills, Staten Island, with commercial buildings on both sides of the street. Sign on the building at far right: "CENTRAL PHARMACY." A car is parked in the street; a woman is walking on the sidewalk. Handwritten inscription along the bottom edge of the negative: "Great Kills S.I.N.Y Amboy Road."

Ownership and History This negative is part of a collection of Staten Island views from The Albertype Company of Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1887 and operating into the early 1950s, the company produced a vast assortment of postcards and souvenir photographic albums for locations across the country.

This view was produced by the Albertype Company as a postcard, captioned "Amboy Road, Great Kills Staten Island, N.Y."
