Description Original glass plate negative. Interior view of the kitchen at Clear Comfort, the Austen family home in Rosebank, Staten Island. There is a large cast iron stove in the center of image; at right is a Windsor chair and a table with a checked tablecloth. Items on the stove include a teapot, a coffeepot, and 3 sad irons. The stove has inscription "DEFIANCE / 8" on the front. There is a ceramic bowl on the table; a towel hangs from a towel rack on the wall above the table. At far left is a Dutch door.
