Original B&W print. View of Amboy Road in Pleasant Plains, Staten Island. There are small commercial buildings on both sides of the street; most of the buildings are two stories tall, and many have awnings over the display window on the ground floor. Several building signs are visible, including: "HOFFMAN / BEVERAGES"; "ECONOMY / SHOE / REPAIRING CO."; "FLAXMAN'S / DEPARTMENT / STORE"; "DRUGS / SODA"; and "[PLEA]SANT PLAINS MARKET". The pediment of the building at far right has the date "1914". A few men stand or walk on the sidewalk, and a small boy is running on the sidewalk at left. Cars are parked on both sides of the street. A railroad bridge crosses the street in the distance.
