Ownership and History This view of the Latourette Farm in Richmond, Staten Island, appears to be staged, with posed and costumed models or actors. Photographer DeWitt C. Wheeler was known for his "song slides," still images that were projected to accompany the lyrics of a song (used in vaudeville houses and nickelodeons, and sometimes preceding silent films), so perhaps this image was created for that purpose.
