Description Original B&W print on brown cardboard mount. Diagonal front and side view of the Colombo House restaurant at South Beach, Staten Island. It's a two-story building with a wide porch. Sign on the front of the building: "COLOMBO HOUSE." Sign on the roof of the porch: "COLOMBO HOUSE / [illegible] LAGER BEER." Four men, three women, and three children pose alongside the building. Image is slightly out of focus.

Ownership and History An article in The Sun newspaper on July 20, 1890, reported on a court case resulting from a fight that broke out during a dinner party at the Colombo House, in which one man assaulted another with a soup plate.
