Ownership and History Alice Austen's notes refer to this photo as Kingston Barracks, Canada. Based on comparison with contemporary photos, it appears to be Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. According to the fort's website, the 23rd Regiment of Foot (Royal Welch Fusiliers), stationed at Fort Henry in 1842 and 1843, had a goat mascot named "Billy." Perhaps the goat in this photo was a continuation of that tradition.
