Description Original B&W print on brown cardboard mount. Front view of a three-story wood frame building. The first floor is a store with sign at left: "GEO. BEINERT / MEAT MARKET." Inscription on the awning above the entrance: "GEO. BEINERT." Standing in front of the store are two men, both wearing work coats; four women, two of them holding infants; and one girl. Another girl stands at left, and a man is seated on the steps at right. The street in front of the building is unpaved. Stamped inscription in red at the bottom left edge of the photo: "[illegible] INSTANTANEOUS." Handwritten inscription on reverse of mount: "George / Beinert's Meat Market / 56 N.Y. Ave. / c 1888." Second inscription on reverse: "56 New York Ave / (Bay St.)"
