The Richmondtown Delicatessen was located at 3487 Richmond Road, Staten Island. The building still stands as of 2014, occupied by a salon.
A native of Staten Island, Herbert A. Flamm was an active community leader as well as a prolific commercial photographer. Clients such as the Board of Transportation, the Richmond Poster Company, and owners of family businesses hired Mr. Flamm to document local stores and street scenes. The Staten Island Historical Society owns more than 7,000 of Mr. Flamm’s original film negatives.
