Description Original B&W film negative. View of an open unpaved area adjacent to the ferry building and a small snack bar at the Elizabethport Ferry in Howland Hook, Staten Island. Signs on the snack bar advertise Coca-Cola, Phillies cigars, and Nedick's Orange Drink. Signs on the ferry building: "2 BOATS / 10 MINUTE / SERVICE" and "SAM'S / TAXI / RADIO DISPATCHED / GIB.2-05[--]." The New Jersey shoreline is seen across the water. The original negative sleeve has the photographers handwritten inscription: "Board of Transportation 10/15/49 / Re Ferry stop / Elizabeth Port."
