Description Original glass plate negative. Close-up view of two tombstones in the St. Andrew's Church cemetery in Richmond, Staten Island. On the left is the tombstone of Captain James Hart (1792-1864) with a carved image of a sailing ship on the stone. On the right is the tombstone of Esther P. Taylor (d. 1872), wife of James Hart, with the form of an ivy-covered cross carved from the stone. In the background is St. Andrew's Church. The original negative sleeve has the photographer's handwritten inscription: "A.R. / 40 / No. 95 / Tombstones St Andrews church / Fine, clear day / 11.40 a.m / 9 ft / D. / Inst / Wed. Oct 22nd 1890."
