Description Original B&W print on beige cardboard mount. Group portrait of twelve girls standing in a line in the street; they all wear matching American flag dresses and hats, and each holds a bouquet of flowers. In the center of the line is a woman holding an American flag. Behind the group is a truck; a woman stands on the back of the truck holding an American flag. A man and a young boy are in the driver's seat. Printed inscription on the truck's cab: "ALLEN-WHEELER / CO. / W.N.B.S.I." There are two houses in the background, and spectators (men, women, and children) are on the sidewalks and on the porches of the houses. Handwritten inscription in pencil on reverse: "Flag Day Parade. / Radiant Star Council No. 49 D. of A. / Sat. June 11th 1921".

Ownership and History The Daughters of America was a national patriotic organization. Here the young women in one of the twelve Staten Island chapters, Radiant Star Council 49, take part in a Flag Day parade, wearing American flag-themed dresses and hats.

In the center of the line is a woman holding an American flag. Behind the group is a truck; a woman stands on the back of the truck holding an American flag.
