Description Original B&W print with fabric backing and a paper tab at left (appears to have been part of an album). Diagonal front view of a row of buildings along the boardwalk in South Beach, Staten Island, with the beach in the foreground. There are numerous people on the beach and boardwalk. Businesses visible include Schaffer's Postal Fotos, a Chop Suey restaurant (the name is not visible), a lemonade and orangeade stand, sanitary baths, and a shooting gallery. Ownership and History This is one of a group of photographs donated to the Historical Society in 1952 by Edwin H. Skinner, who for many years was manager of the Staten Island Beach Land Improvement Company in South Beach.
