Description Original B&W print on black cardboard mount. Front view of two adjoining three-story brick buildings, as seen from across the street. The building at right has a mansard roof, and an inscription above the main entrance on the corner: "STATEN ISLAND SAVINGS BANK." The building at left has an inscription in both of the first floor windows: "POST OFFICE." A man and a horse-drawn carriage are in front of the Post Office building; there are several bare trees and one utility pole along the street. Embossed inscription in lower right corner of photo and mount: "PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE / I. Almstaedt / PHOTO. / TOMPKINSVILLE, S.I." Handwritten inscription in pencil on mount below photo: "Stapleton, Staten Island." Location is identified as the corner of Beach and Water Streets in Stapleton, ca. 1895.
