Ownership and History Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) is buried on Authors Ridge in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, Massachusetts. The noted author and Transcendentalist had a brother, Judge William Emerson (1807-1868), who had resided on Staten Island.
